Charlie Robinson

Qualified Integrative Counsellor, BACP

There are times in life when we all feel lost, overwhelmed, or weighed down by heavy emotions. If this resonates with you, you may be seeking a warm, non-judgemental space to help navigate the challenges you're facing. It may be that you feel stuck in unhelpful patterns, whether in your relationships or in how you treat yourself. At these times, an encouraging space for self-exploration and personal growth can empower you to make the changes you wish to see.

I am a trained, qualified Integrative Counsellor and registered member of the BACP. I support people through a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. These might include grief and loss, anxiety, depression, identity questions, major life transitions, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, or feeling stuck and powerless. These experiences may be influenced by your social, political, and material conditions. I recognise the interplay between individual experience and how wider social realities influence your sense of self and wellbeing.

About me

I work with clients who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected, in ways that could be described as anxiety or depression. Many of them wish to better understand themselves, express their feelings, and speak up for their needs in relationships. I have supported many people going through grief or loss, wether it be death and bereavement (including animals companions), a break up or grieving a life you once imagined for yourself.

I value the magical and mystical dimensions of life, including our connection to the other-than-human world, and I believe there are many paths toward understanding and healing. I recognise that our social and political identities shape us in different ways, and that these identities often overlap to create unique experiences of privilege or oppression. I aim to create a practice which is inclusive, affirming and respectful of difference and remain attentive to the ways difference may be felt within the therapeutic relationship.

My approach

As an integrative counsellor, I use a range of modalities, philosophies, and approaches, which I adapt to suit each client’s specific needs. I believe in working collaboratively with my clients to discover what best supports them and consider the therapeutic relationship to be central to our work together.

My position is to walk alongside you with whatever you may be going through. I welcome the thoughts and feelings that may be difficult to express elsewhere and will help you to understand them.

I take a non-judgemental stance so we can explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion. I’ll ask thoughtful questions to help us get to the heart of the matter, and offer honest reflections to support that process.

We will consider the ways you have responded to life’s circumstances and develop the courage and flexibility to explore new paths forward. Paths that feel more aligned with who you are now and what you wish life to be.

Location

18 Ashwin Street, London E8

Education

My diploma in Integrative Counselling is through The Minster Centre where I am currently working towards my Advanced Diploma in Psychotherapy.

I have worked with people from a diverse range of backgrounds as a counsellor for the charity Mind, for a private low-cost therapy service and run a private practice in London.

Before retraining as a therapist, I worked as a jeweller and within the wellness field. These backgrounds continue to inform my therapeutic practice, which is rooted in creativity, intuition, and openness.
