Forensic Psychologist
Hi, I'm Claire. I have over ten years experience working in various public service settings, including prisons, probation, and the NHS. Within this work, I have supported individuals with a range of needs and difficulties. My aim is always to work alongside my clients, to help them feel heard and empowered. I work compassionately to understand what your specific needs are, what it is you want to gain from your work with me, and tailor my approach to help you to achieve these goals.
Sometimes, people may know they want to seek help through therapy but may not know how to put into words what they feel their core needs are. Therapy is a journey, and we can explore together what these core needs are and develop a plan that helps you feel able to address these needs.
Alongside my private practice, I work part-time as a Senior Forensic Psychologist within the NHS. I am also an Academic Supervisor on the Postgraduate Diploma in Practitioner Forensic Psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University. This supports me to keep up-to-date on current research and practices, to ensure I am delivering good quality and professional services to you.
I primarily specialist in Schema Therapy but have training and experience in other forms of therapy, such as CBT and Behavioural Family Therapy. I draw on my knowledge and experience of different psychological theories and approaches to ensure my sessions are tailored to your needs.
I enjoy bringing a warm and genuine approach to the therapy space. My aim is to help you feel heard, seen, and valued. We will work alongside each other to understand the root of what has brought you to therapy and find ways to help you feel that you can progress with confidence.
