Psychodynamic Counsellor
I’m Deb, a qualified psychodynamic counsellor and therapist. I work with people who feel overwhelmed, stuck, numb or disconnected from themselves, particularly those navigating midlife and times of change. I offer a warm, genuine and non-judgemental space to help you understand what’s going on beneath the surface and reconnect with who you really are.
I’m particularly interested in what happens underneath the surface of our everyday lives and the patterns that can shape how we feel, think and relate to others. I work collaboratively, with curiosity and compassion, helping you make sense of what’s happening and understand yourself more deeply.
I believe therapy is about creating a relationship where you don’t have to have everything figured out or hold everything together. You can simply come as you are, and we can work things out together.
I work with people who may feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves or simply know that something needs to change. My approach looks beyond the immediate problem to understand what might be happening underneath it, including patterns in relationships, emotions and ways of coping that may have developed over time.
Therapy is a chance to slow things down, make sense of yourself and begin to understand why you feel and respond in the ways you do. I believe the relationship we build together is an important part of this process. I’ll offer a space where you can be yourself, without having to perform, please or hold everything together.
I work both short and long term, depending on what you need, and we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you.
