Integrative Arts Counsellor (MBACP)
Are you someone who has tried traditional talking or group therapies but they didn't quite sit right? Are you interested in using arts in a space to reflect, explore your problems and make sense of it all. I'm here to help you create support.
Hi I’m Francesca Myles (BA hons, PGcert, MBACP, Associate BAAT, & Creative Counsellors CIC member)
As an Integrative Arts Counsellor, I support people with a wide mix of mental health challenges—especially the kind that show up alongside big life transitions, like chronic illness, disability, identity, relationship changes, or feeling out of step with the world around you. Here are some of the things people come to me for support with:
Feeling anxious or overwhelmed—whether it’s social situations, health worries, or just trying to keep up with life.
Low mood or depression—including times when everything feels heavy, flat, or hard to face.
Living with neurodivergence—like ADHD, autism, or sensory differences, and the emotional ups and downs that can come with it.
Exploring identity—especially around gender, sexuality, or figuring out who you are in a world that doesn’t always get it.
Managing chronic health conditions—and the emotional impact of pain, fatigue, or feeling misunderstood.
Grief and loss—whether that’s losing someone, or dealing with changes in your health, relationships, or sense of self.
Feeling isolated or disconnected—especially if you’ve felt overlooked or unheard in other spaces.
Processing trauma—including ongoing stress, past experiences, or the kind of trauma that’s hard to name.
I aim to create a space that’s gentle, creative, and shaped around what you need—not a one-size-fits-all approach. If any of this sounds familiar, you’re not alone—and I’d be glad to work with you.
I use an integrative approach which means I believe in supporting people where they are at and not all forms of therapy fit every person all the time. I may use ideas from Gestalt, Transactinal Analysis or Humanistic therapies.
Creative counselling means we’ll be using the arts as a therapeutic approach that integrates, or blends, creativity and counselling.
The creative process can help you access deeper emotions and insights, as well as often being a calmin and mindful activity or a way to bring colour and energy into your world.
It allows you to explore and communicate your thoughts and feelings through non-verbal ways.
When words fail, art speaks.
I trained in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy, qualifing as a Counsellor using the Arts. I am also a mental health first aider and have extensive experience working in social care with all kinds of people from young people, people with disabilities, neurodiversity, dementia and have provided palliative care. I am also trained in, Counselling skills using arts, Therapeutic group facilitation with Creative Counsellors CiC and deliver creative wellbeing courses in community arts where I reguarly unskill through CPD to work with the groups I facilitate such as LGBTQ+ mental health. I am insured to deliver counselling online and in person 1-1 and groups, am ICO compliant and adhere to my registered body BACP's ethical code and conduct.
