Family & Systemic Psychotherapist and Systemic Supervisor

Hi, my name is Jamie.
I run a small private practice as a qualified Family and Systemic Psychotherapist working with families, couples and individuals, offering both online and face to face sessions.

I work in different locations across London and on different days. Monday evenings in Kensington SW5, Tuesday evenings in West Hampstead NW6, and Euston WC1X on Wednesday evenings. I also have access to other venues and locations as a member of the West London Therapy Hub which includes Battersea, Clapham, Chiswick and Wimbledon.

Please don't hesitate to make contact through my email address. I always offer anyone considering me as a therapist a 30 minute video call. Please note that as of April 2024, I don’t currently have any space to accept new clients. This will likely change in a few months around June 2024.

About me

I am a White cisgendered male, who identifies as gay, British European and with proud working-class London roots. I’ve had a very varied career working in a range of contexts and roles supporting people of all ages through different life challenges and difficulties. I previously worked as a youth and community worker, setting up one of the first LGB youth groups back in 1994. In 2000 was able to do a year of international voluntary service working with street children in Mexico and years later I qualified as a social worker and worked for many years with children and families in local authority child protection.

My approach

After ten years experience working as a systemic family therapist and clinical supervisor, I understand that what is most important to begin with is helping people to feel comfortable enough to help me understand the context of your life and the change you hope to work towards.

My primary modality of psychotherapy is systemic however I draw on a number of different approaches, that I have developed and integrated into my practice. I believe that therapy is not a one-size fits all approach and expect to adapt to fit the needs and style of the family, couple or individual I work with.

I use a number of therapeutic models or approaches all of which have required further training including Emotionally Focused Therapy (with couples, families and individuals), Non-Violent Resistance (NVR), Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
