Janine Sinnott

Advance Clinical Trainee Psychotherapist

I'm Janine — an advanced clinical trainee psychotherapist (UKCP, UKATA), working with individuals and couples from a cosy therapy room in Nantwich, and online across the UK.
If you're the one who holds everything together at work, at home, in your friendships, and the anxiety, irritability and low hum of overwhelm is starting to tell you something needs to change, therapy gives you an hour a week where nobody needs anything from you. I work integratively using Transactional Analysis to help you understand the patterns that have been running on autopilot since childhood, and find your way back to a version of yourself that feels more like home.
For couples, I use Imago Relationship Therapy — an approach designed for long-term relationships that have lost their spark, got stuck in the same argument on repeat, or are trying to work out how to rebuild after an affair. Together we'll look underneath the conflict, help you hear each other properly again, and rediscover the warmth and honesty that brought you together.

About me

My style is warm, human and evidence-based. I'll offer you a hot drink. I'll move at your pace and I won't push you somewhere you're not ready to go. I'm gentle and curious, but I will challenge you when I think it's in your interest. I'm the kind of therapist who'll feel angry on your behalf when something's been unjust, share in the sadness of what you're carrying, and properly celebrate your wins rather than nodding politely past them. I notice the child you once were inside the adult sat across from me, and I'm curious about both.

My approach

My core training is in Integrative Transactional Analysis (TA), which looks at how patterns we developed early in life are still shaping our relationships, thoughts and feelings now. It's collaborative, practical, and warm, definitely not the silent-blank-screen version of therapy.

With couples, I work using Imago Relationship Therapy, which is specifically designed to interrupt the cycles of conflict that long-term relationships fall into and help partners properly hear each other again. It's powerful work, particularly for couples who've drifted, who keep having the same argument, or who are trying to find their way through after an affair.
