Integrative family psychotherapist
I believe that everyone is doing the best they can at any given moment and is capable of change. In therapy, we’ll work together to build sustainable habits, move toward your goals, and develop a kinder, more compassionate relationship with yourself and your boundaries.
My name is Kristýna Hallam (she/her). My core psychotherapy training is in Integrative Systemic Family Therapy, and I have additional training in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Crisis Intervention, and Motivational Interviewing. I also have a Master’s degree in a Healthcare specialisation in addiction prevention and treatment.
Alongside my private practice, I currently work in a hospice setting, supporting individuals and families through emotionally complex and often challenging times.
I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and a member of the Association for Family Therapy (AFT). My work is regularly supervised by an accredited systemic supervisor.
I work using an integrative approach, which means I draw on different therapeutic models to best support your unique needs. My main framework is systemic family therapy, which looks at how relationships, family dynamics, and social context may influence how you feel and behave. We explore patterns within these systems that may be affecting your well-being.
Alongside this, I also use tools from Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), which can help you manage strong emotions, improve relationships, and develop healthy coping skills. DBT combines acceptance and change strategies — so while we work on understanding where difficulties come from, we also build practical skills to move forward.
This approach allows us to explore both the bigger picture of your life and relationships, and also focus on developing everyday tools for emotional wellbeing.
