About me

Lana Davison | Trauma-Informed Life Coach

I understand what it feels like to carry invisible wounds. At 36, I've walked through my own journey of healing from mental health challenges, addiction, and the complex aftermath of abuse. These experiences haven't just shaped who I am—they've equipped me with both professional expertise and deep personal understanding of what it truly takes to rebuild your life.

Through my practice with Little Rock Trauma, I help people navigate some of life's most challenging experiences: recovering from narcissistic abuse, healing from childhood trauma, learning to set boundaries, and breaking cycles that no longer serve them. I work particularly with survivors of domestic violence and those dealing with Complex PTSD, because I know firsthand how isolating and overwhelming these experiences can be.

My journey into this work began with my own healing. I've sat in the darkness of depression, battled addiction, and worked through the confusion and pain of abusive relationships. But I've also experienced the profound transformation that's possible when you have the right support, tools, and someone who believes in your capacity to heal—even when you can't see it yourself.

I'm certified in trauma-informed coaching approaches and continue to deepen my understanding through ongoing training and supervision. But beyond the qualifications, what I bring is genuine empathy, unwavering belief in your resilience, and the knowledge that comes from having walked a similar path.

What drives me:

Knowing that the pain you're carrying today doesn't have to define your tomorrow. I've seen too many people (including myself) stay stuck because they believe they're fundamentally flawed or that change isn't possible. I'm here to help you discover that's simply not true.

My approach

Bridging the Gap Between Where You Are and Where You Want to Be

My approach is built on one fundamental belief: you are not broken, and you don't need to be fixed. Your responses, your struggles, your protective mechanisms—they all make perfect sense given what you've experienced. My job is to help you understand this, and then support you in developing new tools and patterns that serve your life now.

Trauma-Informed and Safety-First

Everything we do together is grounded in creating safety—emotional, psychological, and physical. I understand that trust doesn't come easily when it's been broken before, so we go at your pace, and you maintain complete control over our work together. No pushy tactics, no judgment, just consistent, reliable support as you navigate your healing journey.

Holistic Healing

Trauma lives in the body as much as the mind, so our work addresses both. We'll explore how your nervous system responds to stress, develop practical tools for regulation, and help you reconnect with your body as a source of wisdom rather than danger. This might include breathing techniques, grounding exercises, or simply learning to notice and honour what your body is telling you.

Practical and Present-Focused

While we acknowledge and honour your past, our primary focus is on your life today. We'll work on practical skills like boundary setting, communication strategies, managing triggers, and building routines that support your wellbeing. You'll leave our sessions with concrete tools you can use immediately.

Collaborative Partnership

You are the expert on your own life and experience. My role is to provide professional knowledge, tools, and perspective, but you set the agenda. We work together to identify what's most important to you, what's working, what isn't, and what you'd like to change. This isn't therapy where someone analyses you—this is coaching where we focus on moving forward together.

Understanding Patterns

Much of our work involves recognising patterns—in relationships, thinking, behaviour, and responses—that may have served you once but are now holding you back. We explore these with curiosity rather than criticism, understanding why they developed and how to consciously choose different responses that align with who you're becoming.

Normalising the Journey

Healing isn't linear, and setbacks aren't failures—they're part of the process. I help normalise the ups and downs of recovery and provide steady support through the inevitable challenges that arise. You don't have to pretend to be "fine" with me; authenticity is welcomed and encouraged.

What you can expect:

A warm, non-judgmental space where your experiences are validated and your goals are prioritised. We'll work together to build your toolkit for managing difficult emotions, improve your relationships (starting with the one you have with yourself), and help you reclaim your sense of agency in your own life.

My commitment to you: To show up consistently, to believe in your capacity for healing even when you don't, and to provide the skills, support, and perspective you need to create lasting change. You deserve to live a life that feels genuinely yours—let's work together to make that happen.
