About me

I am an integrative therapist and clinical supervisor working with clients aged 18+. I can offer in-person or online appointments and operate a flexible booking system, allowing clients and supervisees to schedule appointments around other commitments.

My approach

As an integrative therapist I believe there is no one size fits all approach to therapy. I am committed to offering a safe space where you can explore the topics you bring to therapy in a way that works for you and aim to build an authentic relationship with each client based on trust, empathy and compassion.

I believe in allowing the client to set the pace and direction of our work, meaning that from the outset you are in control of what you choose to talk about and how much you choose to share. My approach is relaxed and clients often remark that they are surprised by how much therapy just feels like a 'normal conversation'.

Throughout our work together I can offer tools from various modalities such as person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness and more to suit your unique needs and preferences. Together we will build a tailored package of support that is right for you.

Supervision
--------------
Whether you meet with your clients online or in-person, a safe space where you can reflect on your work with clients is crucial to developing your learning and maintaining professional standards of practice. As a clinical supervisor, I offer online supervision to qualified and student therapists or others working in the helping professions. For more information please see my website.

Experience
-------------
I have a strong foundation of experience supporting individuals who come to therapy with a wide range of issues including anxiety, stress, fertilty issues, relationship difficulties, bereavement, difficult life changes and more.

Trauma / Sexual Violence
----------------------------
I specialise in supporting individuals who have been affected by trauma and have particular experience supporting those affected by sexual abuse and/or rape. I understand that everyone experiences trauma differently and work to support individuals to explore the ways their trauma has impacted them, the ways they have coped and the aspects of trauma which continue to cause them distress.

Adoption / Adoption Disruption
-----------------------------------
I have experience working with adoptive parents and adoption disruption. I aim to provide a safe and supportive space where adopters can acknowledge and work through the complex feelings associated with adoption/disruption and develop coping strategies and resilience to move forward.

Common themes explored in adoption / disruption therapy include feelings of failure, isolation, inadequacy, grief and anger; the impacts of child to parent violence, aggression or false accusations; the impact of disruption on family, relationships and careers; concerns about future adoptions or maintaining a relationship with your child post-disruption; the impact of service level failings and/or professional gaslighting.

Uniformed Personnel / Emergency Services
----------------------------------------------
I have significant experience working with those in uniformed services such as paramedics, firefighters, police and medical staff. The impact of such stressful professions and the traumatic events faced in such roles cannot be understated. I aim to offer a safe, confidential space to explore work-related concerns and the impact they are having upon an individual. I also have experience supporting military personnel, both those currently serving and veterans. Through this work I have some insight into the challenges faced in and after service and I have supported individuals in addressing the impact of traumatic experiences and the difficulties faced reacclimatising to civilian life.
