Counsellor & Psychotherapist
I have been practicing as a counsellor for almost 25 years and, through my work, I have been privileged to meet many beautiful and unique human beings.
I believe within counselling, a meaningful and trusting relationship with another human being is a vital part of the therapy, and that it is this relationship with another that enables us to understand and accept ourselves and to heal and grow.
I feel I have the qualities of self-awareness, genuineness or realness, empathy and an acceptance of others; all of which I consider to be vital in order to develop a therapeutic relationship with someone who is looking for help, with whatever it is that has led them to seek counselling.
As a counsellor I view myself as a fellow traveller, sharing a part of the client’s journey through life, for as long as they want me alongside them. I always feel both humbled and honoured when someone puts their trust in me and invites me to walk alongside them for a while and to share with me with their unique story.
As a counsellor, I have extensive experience of working with both individuals and couples. I have worked with a wide variety of issues including, anxiety, depression, family and relationship issues, stress, work related issues, trauma and bereavement. I also have considerable experience of working with clients on the autistic spectrum.
I offer both face-to-face and online counselling, depending on availability. Although counselling has traditionally been face-to-face, since Covid I have found that online sessions can be a very effective form of counselling. Many clients have found this a good way to access counselling, and it can provide more flexibility and convenience, including being able to be in their own space.
If you would like to arrange an appointment, I would be pleased to offer you either a short telephone chat or a full payable session with no obligation to continue.
I work within a small counselling organisation called Lemon Grove Counselling & Therapy, which is run jointly by myself, and fellow counsellor, Marco Centonze. We set up Lemon Grove because we both believe in the same approach and our aim is to create the peace and tranquility that goes hand in hand with the healing process.
