Psychotherapist ~ Adults, Children & Young People

Welcome!

I understand how hard it can be to take the first step to starting therapy, or to return to therapy. One of the most important things when considering therapy, is to explore your options, and to arrange to have an initial free and informal chat to explore whether or not there is some comfort, connection and whether the therapists knowledge and experience match your therapeutic needs. The therapeutic relationship can be one of the most effective tools in the progress of the therapy.

There are numerous reasons for seeking therapy. It may be the need to find a safe, open and honest space to talk about your thoughts and feelings with someone impartial. It may be that you are feeling stuck repeating the same patterns of behaviour, which may be negatively impacting your life. Or you may be experiencing relational issues, anxiety, or overwhelm and overthinking. All of these challenges may be a symptom of trauma, or learned coping mechanisms which began in childhood and which no longer serve us in adulthood. Whatever the reason for the start of your journey, you are most welcome.

About me

I love travel and consider myself a Global Citizen. As a former teacher, and have lived and worked in many different countries such as Kenya, Egypt, Oman, U.A.E, Australia, America. Malaysia and the Caribbean. I was lucky enough to embrace the customs and culture of the people who lived there, and inspires me to celebrate similarities, differences and learn from them.

I have many interests, some of which include animals of any kind, being in nature, wild swimming and spending time with my family, friends and rescue pets Coco the ShihTzu and MishMish the very fluffy cat!

My approach

I am a pluralistically trained therapist, which allows me to use a variety of theories and techniques to tailor therapy to support your needs. I believe that you are the expert on your life and in your story, and you already possess the inner strength that will assist you in overcoming the things that challenge you - you may only need reminding! Taking the first step to seeking how to make changes in your life takes courage. My role is to support and guide you in this process through psychoeducation and a safe, informal, non-judgmental space where you are welcome to relax, be yourself, and come as you are and with however you feel!

My style of therapeutic work is holistic, intuitive, empathetic and encourages empowerment. I believe that you are the expert in your own life and that I am there only to help you explore issues productively and progressively while working at a level and pace that feels comfortable for you.

Everyone is welcome, as you are, with open arms and an open heart. I provide a neuro-affirmative approach to therapy and a safe and non-judgemental space where both similarities and differences are celebrated. I look forward to meeting you and to working together to find new ways to encourage deeper self-awareness, growth, and empowerment.
