Creative Arts Psychotherapist, Counsellor and Therapy Dog Handler
Victoria Rash delivers Psychotherapy and Animal Assisted Therapy to young people aged between 4 - 18 years old, In Therapeutic Partnership with her 2 registered Therapy Dogs (and ex Guide Dogs) Gene and Reef. We work with a variety of clients to help them successfully navigate mainstream school or difficult personal situations. The course of therapy (a minimum of 6 sessions) can take place face-to-face or online.
After graduating in 2008 as a Drama and Movement Therapist at the Central School of Speech and Drama (London) I decided to expand my practice knowledge and expertise to meet the needs of the vast variety of young people that require access to therapeutic support and intervention. After gaining experience in working with Dementia, Autism, Asperger’s, Behavioural Difficulties and Bullying I made the decision to focus on dedicating my work and CPD to working with children in mainstream schools and alternative provisions. My 2 German Shepherd Dogs, Gene and Reef are father and son. Gene is 6 and Reef is 3. Both were bred into The Guide Dog Association and have successfully sired 48 puppies (in this country) for Guide Dogs. Their training and temperament is exemplary and, consequently, both have been registered with PAT (Pets as Therapy). Both are different in personality, with Gene being very calm and intuitively caring, whilst Reef is affections and energetic! Having both with me means that they can successfully meet the need of each client that feels the benefits of interacting with dogs.
In Therapeutic Partnership is predominantly a talking therapy with its methods based in Jungian Psychology and Counselling. In addition I offer access to Creative Therapy mediums such as Sand Tray Therapy and Play Therapy. Lastly, Animal Assisted Therapy is always available to every client.
